Getting Started
Do I need an account to try JobJam?
No. You can run up to 3 free evaluations without creating an account or entering a credit card. Just go to /try-it, upload your resume, paste a job description, and get your results instantly. Creating a free account unlocks the full app — application tracking, profiles, and saved history — plus 3 evaluations, 3 optimizations, 3 cover letters, and 30 AI assists.
How do I get started?
Upload your resume once to create a profile. JobJam parses your experience, skills, and roles into a structured profile you can reuse across applications. Then paste any job description to get your fit evaluation immediately.
What file formats does JobJam accept for resumes?
You can upload your resume as a PDF, DOCX, DOC, or TXT file. The maximum file size is 4MB.
Can I create multiple profiles?
Yes. You can create separate profiles for different role types — for example, Frontend, Backend, or Full-Stack. Each profile has its own base resume, cover letter, and application history. Profile limits per plan: Free (1), Starter (15), Job Seeker (30), Active Hunter (unlimited).
Fit Evaluation
What does the fit evaluation actually show me?
The evaluation gives you an ATS score, a breakdown of matched vs. missing skills, and a detailed match analysis across three dimensions: experience, technical skills, and soft skills. You also get specific, actionable recommendations — not just a number.
How accurate is the ATS score?
The ATS score is an AI-generated estimate based on how well your profile aligns with the job description. It is a useful signal, not a guarantee. Actual hiring decisions depend on many factors outside the platform's scope. Always review the full analysis, not just the score.
How is JobJam different from a simple keyword matcher?
JobJam uses a multi-model AI pipeline to evaluate your profile against a job description. Instead of counting keywords, it produces a structured breakdown by category — experience alignment, technical skills, soft skills — with reasoning and specific recommendations on how to close gaps.
Can I evaluate the same job description multiple times?
Yes. Each evaluation uses one credit from your plan. To re-evaluate, create a new conversation after updating your profile or resume to see how your score changes.
Resume & Cover Letter
What does resume tailoring do?
Resume tailoring reframes your existing experience to better match the specific role you're applying for. It highlights what the recruiter is actually looking for and produces a version of your resume optimized for that job description. You can then export it as a PDF ready to submit.
How does cover letter generation work?
JobJam generates a tailored cover letter based on your profile and the job description. You can edit and refine it before saving. You never start from a blank page.
Does JobJam store my resume?
On the free /try-it page, your resume is processed in memory and not stored. Once you create an account, your resume data is stored securely in your profile so you can reuse it across applications.
Application Tracking
What does the application tracker do?
The tracker is a Kanban-style board that moves your applications through stages: Draft → Applied → Screening → Interview → Offer. Every application stores the job description, the exact resume version you used, the date, your status, and your notes.
Why is application memory useful?
When a recruiter calls three weeks after you applied, you can open JobJam and be fully context-loaded in 30 seconds — which company, which role, which resume you sent, what the JD said. You walk into every interview prepared.
What are Target Companies?
Target Companies lets you save companies you're interested in before any roles open. You can track your interest, add notes, and connect applications to a company when you do apply.
Can I regenerate parts of my application?
Yes. You can regenerate the highlights, summary, and other sections of your application at any time. Each regeneration uses one AI assist credit.
Pricing & Credits
How does pricing work?
JobJam uses a one-time credit purchase model — no subscriptions, no auto-renewal. You pay once for the credits you need. Starter (€7.99), Job Seeker (€14.99), and Active Hunter (€34.99) plans are available. Credits do not expire.
What is the Active Hunter plan?
Active Hunter is our top tier — 500 evaluations, 500 resume optimizations, and 250 cover letters. It's designed for someone applying at high volume. Credits never expire, so you can use them at your own pace.
What counts as a credit?
JobJam has four credit types. Evaluation credits are used when you run a fit evaluation against a job description. Optimization credits are used when you tailor your resume for a specific role. Cover letter credits are used when you generate a cover letter. AI assist credits are daily credits used for lightweight AI features like chat messages, bullet rewrites, and regenerating highlights or summaries — these reset every day. Daily AI Assist limits: Free (5/day), Starter (50/day), Job Seeker (150/day), Active Hunter (500/day). Each action uses one credit of its type. Application tracking, profiles, and target companies are included with all plans.
Can I get a refund?
Credits that have been used are non-refundable. EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal, which expires upon first use of credits.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. You get 3 free evaluations, 3 optimizations, 3 cover letters, and 30 AI assists with no account required. Creating a free account unlocks the full app — application tracking, profiles, and saved history. After that, you can purchase a credit pack when you're ready.
Privacy & Data
Who can see my resume and application data?
Only you. JobJam does not share your resume or career data with employers or any third parties. Your data is used solely to provide the service.
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored on Supabase infrastructure within the European Union. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
Does JobJam use my data to train AI models?
No. JobJam uses anonymised, aggregated data to improve evaluation quality. No personally identifiable information is used for this purpose.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your data is removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by German tax law.
Is JobJam GDPR compliant?
Yes. JobJam is operated from Germany and complies with GDPR. You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. Contact hello@jobjam.io to exercise your rights.
